Modified “Trap Door” Approach for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome Complicated by Subclavian Artery Aneurysm

چکیده
Arterial thoracic syndrome is a rare condition that usually presents in young patients with upper extremity thromboembolization. The traditional surgical approaches described are supraclavicular and transaxillary. We hereby present the case of a 46-year-old male with left arterial thoracic outlet syndrome and left subclavian artery aneurysm. We describe our technique in approaching his condition with a modified “trap door” approach. VASCULAR DISEASE MANAGEMENT 2013:10(4):E75-E78

Critical Upper Limb Ischemia Due to Brachial Tourniquet in Misdiagnosed Thoracic Outlet Syndrome after Carpal Tunnel Decompression: A Case Report
We present the case of a 68-year-old woman, referred to our department for critical upper limb ischemia, which had occurred a few days after homolateral surgical ligamentotomy for carpal tunnel syndrome, diagnosed and confirmed by electromyography, and performed with a brachial tourniquet. The patient was later admitted for subsequent progressive necrosis of the first three fingers of the left ...
متن کاملTrap-Door Incision for Penetrating Thoracic Trauma: An Obsolete Approach?
Penetrating injuries to the subclavian vessels are uncommon and very severe lesions. They are difficult to expose and carry a high mortality. "Trap-door" incisions have lately been dismissed as too mutilating for the occasional victim of a penetrating thoracic trauma with massive bleeding difficult that is to expose. We present a case of severe bleeding from a stab wound in the left subclavicul...
متن کاملThoracic aorta dissection associated with aberrant right subclavian artery: treatment with endovascular stent-graft placement.
Dissecting aneurysm is the condition produced by separation of the layers of the arterial wall by circulating blood. Although rare, the coexistence of aortic dissection and aberrant right subclavian artery may be catastrophic. In this study we report the endovascular treatment of a patient with thoracic aorta dissection associated with aberrant right subclavian artery. Aortic clamping proximal ...
متن کاملAn acutely ischaemic hand in a young adult due to subclavian artery aneurysm (SAA) caused by a cervical rib: A case report
INTRODUCTION True subclavian artery aneurysms are relatively rare lesions. Thoracic outlet compression is responsible for 75% of aneurysms. They are formed as a result of compression by, for example a cervical rib. CASE PRESENTATION We present a case of subclavian artery aneurysm secondary to a cervical rib in a 25-year-old young Asian adult, who presented with an acutely ischaemic upper limb...
متن کاملAcute subclavian steal syndrome following blunt thoracic trauma.
Injury of the subclavian artery following trauma is an uncommon finding. Hughes (1958) reported 304 vascular injuries in Korean war casualties but in only three of these was rupture of the subclavian artery documented. Chandler and Knapp (1967) reported the operative repair of 126 vascular injuries in 118 casualties in Vietnam. Only one subclavian artery injury was found, an incidence of 0-8 %....
